DAFTIC (Anti-Fungal Powder/ Spray)

 

As a topical antifungal agent, DAFTIC (Tolnaftate) is used for the treatment of various dermatophytes and several forms of microsporon that can cause infectious conditions like Tinea pedis (athlete’s foot), Tinea cruris (jock itch) and Tinea capitis (body ringworm). The toxicity of DAFTIC (Tolnaftate)  on topical application is virtually negligible.

Indications:

DAFTIC (Tolnaftate) is an antifungal that works by preventing the growth of fungus.  It is used to treat skin infections such as  Athlete’s foot (Tinea Pedis) and ringworm (Tinea Corporis) Helps prevent most athlete’s foot from recurring when used daily. Relieves itching, scaling, cracking, burning and redness.

How to use Antifungal (Tolnaftate) 1%

Directions for Daftic Aerosol Spray use.

Use DAFTIC (Tolnaftate) on the skin only. Clean and thoroughly dry the area to be treated. Apply this medication to the affected skin, usually twice a day or as directed by doctor.

Directions for Daftic Powder use:

Wash effected area and dry thoroughly. Sprinkle powder to place a thin layer over affected area twice daily (morning and evening).

Dosage and length of treatment depends on the type of infection being treated.

 For Athlete’s Foot:

Pay special attention to spaces between the toes; wear well-fitting, ventilated shoes and change shoes and socks at least once daily. Use daily for 4 weeks. To prevent athlete’s foot, apply once or twice daily (morning and/or night).

Apply enough medication to cover the affected area and some of the surrounding skin. After applying DAFTIC (Tolnaftate), wash your hands.

Cautions:

Do not wrap, cover, or bandage the area unless directed to do so by doctor. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with water.  Store below 30⁰C . Protect from direct sunlight. Keep out of the reach of children. Supervise children in the use of Daftic  Powder / Spray. Do Not Use: On children under 2 years of age unless directed by a doctor. Do not apply DAFTIC (Tolnaftate) in the eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina.
